There were a lot of wars for this era, and people were punished harshly for their beliefs. The Art world also experienced this rift. Art started to show that people could think for themselves. Artists started to repaint new versions of Roman and Greek art. There was a very famous French artist named Jacques-Louis David. He painted many paintings but his best work is "The Death of Socrates".
